London Expo 2008!

Fri May 22, 2009, 7:35 AM
Film school is...so freakin' awesome. And time consuming. I've literally spent the last 3 days dissecting the 'Sarah-Conner-escaping-from-mental-institution' 3 min 30 sec scene from Terminator 2. I'm writing a 10 PAGE ANALYSIS on it. I also shot my first-ever movie last week, though I haven't gotten around to editing it yet. If it's any good, I'll be putting it up here. It's kind of cheesy and emotional-anime inspired.

But this entry isn't about that. IT'S ABOUT TOMORROW'S LONDON EXPO!

I'll be there, I'll be square. I REALLY wanted to cosplay, but unfortunately I didn't have the time or money to get my costume ready (I wanted to go as Lelouch Lamperouge - my hair can be styled to look like his). Either way, I'm hoping to run into some of you peeps there.

You will recognise me by my:

- black eye (I walked into a pole last week)
- Monty Python bag

Though I know I shouldn't be spending money for personal pleasures, I'll probably end up buying a whole heap of things. If you'll be attending, let me know how I can spot you!

PS - no, I haven't stopped drawing. I'm currently working on a series of realistic j-rock portraits. First up: The Gazette. Hopefully I'll start putting them up in the coming weeks.

I'M LEAVING (TO ENGLAND)

Tue Mar 24, 2009, 2:55 AM
At the tender age of 12, a young Witegots looks up at her new United Kingdom map, her eyes glazed with wonder and infatuation. Hanging with the superiority of a pop-celebrity poster, this atlas dominates her bedroom wall as she spends her days and nights thinking about what it would be like to live in this strange, wonderful land.

Every time I thought about my 'life' as an adult, I saw myself in England. Nothing else was an option. My occupation was never decided - neither were my hobbies, loves, favourite music or books. But no matter what I was doing, I was doing it on this rainy island.

I GOT MY UK STUDENT VISA TODAY.

Class starts on the 30 March, which means I have 6 days to get my stuff together, take the plane ride there and find a place to stay. The visa came VERY short notice, as you can probably tell.

I can't describe how happy I am.

This is it. I've reached my goal. My live begins this week. I wish that you will all one day experience this incredible, euphoric feeling. :boogie:

THIS IS NOT GOOD-BYE. I'm not leaving DA. My visits and updates will be less frequent, certainly, but I will still be talking to you guys and checking out your arts and lulz. I effin' adore you people. According to my uni, the classes are very 'intensive' (some lasting as long as 10 hours), but I will still try to devote my evenings to this great site.

I'll be dumping all my remaining art here over the next couple of days, after which you probably won't hear from me for a week or two. Afterwards, I hope to continue drawing realistic portraits (like the one of Ruki) of j-rockers because that is relevant to my interests.

About London MCM expo - I don't know if I'll be able to cosplay but I'm DEFINITELY going to be there. Let me know if any of you are going to we can all have some laughs (more info on that in May).

---

Last, but not least - I love you Tabbeh! Polly! Dazz! Dime! JT and his queer friend!

And I fucking love you, Tophs.

I heard you talking smack about me...

...and I just came by to say I don't mind.

Hello, hello, hello, hello.

I'm here to bring my 'I love you's, my 'I miss you's, my grovelling apologies, and my excuses.

I've not been updating for one of two reasons:

-my job (which I've recently and honorably quit)
-my newfound-love for biking and running; which sounds really prickish, but has nothing to do with health - I assure you (and for which it is too cold and wet these days anyway)

There are about a million hilarious things I thought of writing about while I was away, but they all escape me now. I've missed this place too much, and the nostalgia is literally hurting my chest right now.

I'm finally free.

BUT...there's a good chance I'll be getting a visa and moving to England in two weeks' time. I hope to use my remaining days to catch up with everyone, and upload all my old and new art/comics/crafts (starting today). Why do I keep doing this to myself? I promise to go over all your art and comments. I'm too anal not to.

So...how are YOU?

Yes...YOU!

JUST got off the bus...

...the LAZY bus, that is.

That's right. I just openly admitted to spending a month doing nothing. I wasn't away or anything.

Aside from feeling like a douche for not doing anything creative with my time, I feel like an ASSHOLE for never logging on or at least confirming to people that I'm ok. I'm sorry if I made you worry. Honest.

If I didn't make you worry, then you'll find your eyes lazily rolling over this journal entry, wondering why you care what a semi-popular artist has to say anyway. Why are you still reading this? If you're a new watcher, then a big 'SUP? to you, and the assurance that I'll be raiding your gallery soon.

I'm hoping to turn this week into DN week to provide you with a splash of crassly-drawn, unfunny comics (you know you want them).

---

So...what did I spend all month doing?

- watching every episode of this strangely addictive show about a couple of girls who struggle through bras, periods, smoking, eating disorders, drinking, peer pressure, miscarriages, homophobia, sexism, racism and disbelief in god (in the first 10 episodes).

- playing this retarded game

- realising Lemon Demon and Ryan Murphy joined forces to create a force of awesome

- watching MST3K

- remembering how fun it is to draw and how I should totally get back to doing it

- watching this innuendo-ladden anime about a wizard, his flamboyant gay best friend and some girls.

- trying to avoid this and the guilt that I'm feeling right now.

- getting my England documents sorted out

---

I'll be catching up on all your arts and comments asap, but if you've got something important to say, the stage is yours...
