So there I was yesterday, in Flash MX, working on the last panel of a DN comic. Just as I finish making a curve to signify Light's naked shoulderblade (this particular comic ends in yaoi, you see) my computer makes a strange clicking sound.

I literally get the words 'What the...' out of my mouth before my computer shuts itself off with a drawn out pooooooooooo sound (think sci-fi and not potty). I furrow my eyebrows a bit....shit....when did I last save? Was it before panel 4? I think it was after I coloured in Soichiro in panel 2...wait, no....damn...even earlier than that?

And while I'm thinking this and waiting for the computer to turn on again, I realise that its NOT turning on. It's sort of just stalling. The loadbar's running around, giving me that "I know the answer to this question, honest" look. Except I know it's lying. Little bastard hasn't got a clue.

Sure, I'm feeling bummed out, but when things like this happen, I tend to be less of a wall-puncher and more of a hang-my-head-in-defeat-and-go-to-sleep-cause-it's-4-am type.

You can now guess where this is going.

I couldn't turn on the computer this morning. Took it to the computer center (some dudes in a basement 2 blocks from where I live), they told me to call in the evening. Just got off the phone - they told me my computer's a whore and got all the viruses to prove it. They can't even guarantee that they'd be able to save my D drive (i.e. where I keep EVERYTHING from art, music, movies, to work and uh...more work).

Gah. It's taking a long time hitting me. There are half-finished Flash cartoons on there...big, BIG projects and drawings and animations I was working on. Dozens/hundreds of hours of unfinished work. It's like I'm being punished for my procrastination. I'm currently sitting behind a laptop with a wonky screen, sticky keyboard and a mouse that has a will of its own. My beloved computer will be back on Tuesday...most likely with nothing on it. Until then I'll try to use the time to do traditional drawings (that Far Out series and whatnot).

Anyway, just stopped by to check *SecretKarmaSerenade's condition and post this journal entry. Will be back checking comments and deviations after Tuesday. I honestly don't know what this keyboard is covered in, but damned if I'll be touching it again.

*smells fingers*
